Lara Translate on iOS

Lara Translate is an AI-powered translation app developed by Translated, designed to help you communicate effortlessly across languages using your iPhone or iPad. 

Home screen and translation modes

From the home screen, you can choose how you want to translate:

• Plain Text – translate short or long text instantly

• Documents – upload and translate documents

• Interpreter – speak and get real-time interpretation

You can also:

• Paste text using the Paste button

• Swap source and target languages

• Let Lara automatically detect the source language

Text translation

1. Enter or paste the text you want to translate

2. Lara instantly generates the translation

3. From the result screen, you can:

   • 🔊 Listen to the translation

   • 📋 Copy the translated text

   • 🔗 Share it externally

Translations are designed to be accurate, fluent, and context-aware.

Translation Styles

To access the feature, click the three-dots menu (⋮) above the source text. You can customize how translations are generated by selecting a Style:

• Faithful – closer to the original text and structure

• Fluid – more natural and idiomatic

• Creative – more expressive and adaptive

To change style:

1. Tap Styles above the source text

2. Select your preferred option

3. The translation updates automatically

Adding context to improve translations

Adding context helps Lara resolve ambiguities and improve accuracy. To access the feature, click the three-dots menu (⋮) above the source text.

1. Tap Add context

2. Enter additional information (e.g. tone, audience, domain)

3. Confirm to apply it to the translation

Context is especially useful for professional, technical, or nuanced content.
