Using the Lara Translate Chrome Extension
The Lara Translate Chrome Extension lets you translate web content directly while browsing. You can translate entire web pages or selected portions of text without leaving your browser.
Installing and accessing the extension
The Lara Browser extension is available on the Chrome Web Store.
To get started:

Open the Chrome Web Store and search for Lara Translate

Install the extension

Click the puzzle icon in the Chrome toolbar

Pin Lara Translate by clicking the pin icon next to it
Once pinned, the Lara icon will appear in your browser toolbar.
Sign in to Lara
To use the extension, you need a Lara account.

Click the pinned Lara icon

Sign in using your email and password, or create a new account

After signing in, the extension opens on the right side of the browser
Page Translator: translate entire web pages
The Page Translator allows you to translate the full page you are currently visiting.
How to translate a page
-
Open the web page you want to translate

Click the pinned Lara Translate icon

Choose the source language (or keep Detect)
-
Select the target language
- Select Translate under the Translate this page section

To view the original content again, click Show original.
Page translation limitations
Page translation may not be available on all websites, even if the page is in HTML format.
This can happen because:
-
some websites use technical or security configurations that prevent browser extensions from accessing or modifying page content
-
complex or highly dynamic websites (e.g. platforms with login, interactive content, or advanced navigation) may block reliable page translation
In these cases, page translation is automatically disabled to ensure stability and translation quality.
We are actively monitoring these scenarios and working to expand the number of supported websites.
If page translation is unavailable, you can still translate specific content using the Text Translator or by copying text into Lara.
Text Translator: translate selected text
The Text Translator allows you to translate specific portions of text from a web page.
Translate text manually
You can:

copy and paste selected text into the text box on the right panel

select source and target languages
-
choose a translation style (Faithful, Fluid, or Creative)
Enable the quick translation icon
You can also enable a quick translation icon that appears when you highlight text - by default, the icon is enabled and appears automatically when you highlight text on a web page.

To enable it:

open Settings
-
go to Text Translator
-
enable Show text translation icon

When enabled, selecting text on a page shows a small icon.
Clicking it automatically sends the selected text to the translation panel.

When to use Lara Browser
Lara Browser is ideal when you want to:
-
understand foreign-language websites while browsing
-
translate selected content without leaving the page
-
switch quickly between translated and original content
For large texts or files, document translation inside Lara may be more suitable.
Billing and usage
Translations performed through the Lara Translate Chrome Extension are billed using the Text Translation quota associated with your Lara account.
