Using Translation Memories in Lara's UI

Guide to upload and use Translation Memories in Lara

Translation Memories (TMs) help keep your translations consistent and aligned with your brand's voice. In Lara, you can create, import, export, and use Translation Memories directly from the interface.

Creating a Translation Memory

You can create a new Translation Memory directly from your Lara account. Once created, populate it  by importing a TMX file.

Importing a Translation Memory

You can import a Translation Memory directly from your Lara account. To import a TMX file:

  1. Go to Memories in your Lara account
  2. Click Add memory
  3. Enter a name for your Translation Memory
  4. Drag and drop your TMX file into the upload area, or click browse files to select it from your computer - supported formats: .tmx, .tmx.gz (maximum 1GB)
  5. Click Create

If you are an existing Translated client and want your existing memories associated with your Lara account, contact our Support Team and we'll take care of it.

Exporting a Translation Memory

You can export any of your Translation Memories as a TMX file:

  1. Open the Translation Memory you want to export
  2. Select Export
  3. Your TMX file will be generated and downloaded (maximum 1 GB)

Using Translation Memories in translations

Whether you are translating text or documents, you will see the list of available TMs and can select or deselect one, multiple, or none before starting your translation.

When TMs are enabled, Lara uses them to ensure consistency in terminology and style across your content. If none are selected, Lara proceeds with its adaptive AI translation only.
