Prepare your file before upload: Remove comments and revisions

How to avoid analysis errors by cleaning up your document first

  1. Before uploading your document to Lara, open it in the appropriate software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or LibreOffice) and check for any tracked changes or comments. These are common in collaborative editing and can cause analysis errors if left unresolved.

  2. In Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, go to the “Review” tab. Use the “Accept” or “Reject” buttons to remove all tracked changes. Make sure your file is finalized and no suggested edits remain.

  3. Delete or resolve all comments. Comments are usually shown in the margins or review panes. Right-click each comment and choose “Delete” or “Resolve,” depending on your software.

  4. If you're working with ODT, XLSX, or PPTX files, follow the same procedure using LibreOffice or your Office suite to clean up comments and edits.

  5. For PDFs, open the file in a PDF editor like Adobe Acrobat and remove all annotations, sticky notes, or comments that may be embedded.

  6. Once your file is clean, save it in its original format (e.g., .DOCX, .ODT, .XLSX, .PDF). Avoid exporting to plain text or other formats that strip structure, unless necessary.

  7. Now return to Lara, go to the Translate Documents tab, and upload your finalized file. This should resolve the “Analysis failed” error and allow the translation to proceed smoothly.
