Add to Memory: Build your own translation memory
A practical guide to personalizing translations
With our Add to Memory feature, you can teach Lara directly from your manual corrections. This helps ensure that your translation preferences are remembered and consistently applied across future translations.
How it works
-
Edit your translation
In the Text Translation mode, you can either:-
Modify the target text manually.
-
Or select from the Alternative translations by clicking on one or more terms you’d like to change.
-
-
Save your edits
Once you’re satisfied with your edits, click Add to Memory.-
Lara will display the collected edits before confirmation, showing how they are segmented.
-
Segmentation depends on the source text:
-
If multiple sentences are in one paragraph, Lara splits them based on punctuation (e.g., periods) or line breaks.
-
If only one edit is made, Lara saves the full sentence where the edit was applied.
-
-
-
Confirm and apply
After reviewing, click Confirm.
A new memory called Personal Memory will appear in the Memories dropdown. You can enable or disable it at any time. -
Best practices
We recommend making edits in Faithful style and applying the memory in the same style. This ensures that Lara learns consistently and avoids conflicting instructions (for example, mixing formal with informal tones). -
Using the memory
When the Personal Memory is applied to a translation, Lara’s output and feedback will adapt accordingly, reflecting the saved corrections
What you should know
-
You will not be able to view the individual entries that have been stored in the memory.
-
Once an edit has been added, it cannot be removed or deleted individually.
-
If you want to stop using the Personal Memory, you can disable it in the Memories dropdown or request a full deletion of the memory by contacting our support team at support@laratranslate.com.
Note: This feature is available only for the Pro Plan and will roll out to the Team plan in the coming weeks.
