What happens when your monthly quota is exhausted

How extra usage works and how to monitor your consumption

On paid plans (Personal and Team), you are never blocked when your monthly character quota runs out. Lara continues to work and any characters beyond your monthly quota are billed as extra usage.

    How extra usage works

    • Extra usage is billed automatically at a simple per-character rate, calculated at the end of your billing cycle.
    • On the Personal plan, extra usage is billed at €25 per million characters (or $29.99/1M).
    • On Team plans, extra usage is billed at €20 per million characters (or $24.99/1M).
    • When your next billing cycle starts, your monthly quota resets and extra usage billing stops.

How to check your current usage

    1. Click on your Profile icon in the top-right corner of the dashboard. You will see a Characters usage summary showing how many characters you have used in the current billing cycle.

    2. Click See breakdown for a detailed view of your consumption by service type (Text, Documents, Interpreter), the current billing cycle dates, and how many days until your quota resets.

    What about the Free plan?

The Free plan does not include extra usage. When the 60,000-character monthly quota is used up, translations pause until the next billing cycle. You can upgrade to a paid plan at any time to continue without waiting.

    Want a larger monthly quota?

If you regularly exceed your quota, upgrading to a higher plan tier is more cost-effective than relying on extra usage. Visit laratranslate.com/pricing to compare plans.
