Using the Lara Translate Edge Extension

The Lara Browser Extension lets you translate web content directly while browsing Microsoft Edge. You can translate entire web pages, selected text, and specific content without leaving your browser.

Installing and Accessing the Extension

The Lara Browser Extension is available on the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store. To get started:

  • Go to the Lara Translate extension page on the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store and click Get
  • Click the Extensions icon in your Edge toolbar and pin Lara Translate by clicking the pin icon next to it

Once pinned, the Lara icon appears in your browser toolbar.

Sign In to Lara

You need a Lara account to use the extension.

  • Click the pinned Lara icon to open the side panel
  • Click Sign in to Lara to open the login popup
  • If you don't have an account, click Create account to sign up

After signing in, the extension opens on the right side of the browser, ready to use.

How to Translate a Page

  1. Open the web page you want to translate
  2. The translation widget appears at the top of the page
  3. Choose the source language or keep Detect for automatic detection
  4. Select the target language and optionally a translation style
  5. Click Translate

Once complete, the page content is replaced with the translated text. To view the original, click Show Original on the widget.

Translation Styles

  • Faithful — close to the source, ideal for documents and technical content
  • Fluid — natural and idiomatic, suited for everyday reading
  • Creative — expressive and adapted, suited for marketing or creative writing

You can set a default style in the extension settings.
