Using Lara in Google Slides
Translate slides directly in Google Slides with the Lara Browser Extension
The Lara Browser Extension integrates with Google Slides, letting you translate all text on a slide at once — preserving formatting and layout.
Requirements
To use Lara in Google Slides, you need:
- The Lara Browser Extension installed in Chrome
- An active Lara account (Pro or Team plan)
- Open a Google Slides presentation in edit mode
- A floating Lara button appears on the slide canvas
- Click it to open the translation controls
- Select the source language (or keep Detect)
- Select the target language
- Choose a translation style (Faithful, Fluid, Creative, Formal, or Informal)
- Select Translation Memories and Glossaries
- Click Translate Slide

All text boxes on the current slide are translated at once. The translation preserves the original formatting, layout, and text positioning. Use Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z on Mac) to undo.
Enable or Disable Google Slides Integration
To toggle the integration:
- Click the Lara icon in the Google Slides title bar
- Or go to the Lara side panel > Settings > Integrations > Google Slides
When you first open a presentation with the extension installed, a welcome popup lets you enable or disable the integration.
Billing and Usage
Translations in Google Slides are billed using the Text Translation quota associated with your Lara account.
